New galleries

Finally, yes, finally, got around to putting three new galleries up on the web site. I've put together three new galleries for three recent Christenings. Two are Greek Orthodox, the other a Catholic service.

Grace's christening is here: http://harrisonphotos.com.au/christening_grace.html

Zach's christening is here: http://harrisonphotos.com.au/christening_zach.html

and finally Kian: http://harrisonphotos.com.au/christening_kian.html

I'll write up a little bit about each Christening in subsequent posts

Away but now back!

Just got back from two weeks leave, ten days of which were spent in Phuket, Thailand.

What a blast - if you haven't been, you should do you self a favour and travel there. Currently it is monsoon season, and so is low season. My wife (Kathy) and I benefited by having very few fellow tourists to battle with!

We stayed at the Moevenpick Resort and Spa on Karon Beach, a Swiss run hotel that was beautiful - nothing was too much trouble for the staff there.

The James Bond cocktails are dynamite and who wouldn't enjoy sitting by the pool on a 32 degree day enjoying a quiet drink with the one you love.

Perfect.

Back to business this week, thus more posts and photos coming soon.

Enjoy

Pony Club

Today I headed bush! Sounds dramatic doesn't it? And 'bush' may be overstating the situation somewhat...

I actually went to visit my sister and her family at Glossodia, about a one and a quarter hour drive from my home in Rosebery. Upon arriving (and previously warned by Craig - my brother-in-law) the clan was found at the pony club, a short one minute drive from their house.

Charlotte is quite the accomplished rider, and below are a few shots from the day, along with a link to more images. Please enjoy...

Charlotte enters the dressage arena on 'Teddie'.

A fair degree of concentration at play, both on the part of the pony and rider, with each taking it in turns to lead...

Charlotte demonstrated her confidence on her horse back (pony back?) and revealed in the opportunity to indulge in her favourite pastime.

Proud parents after Charlotte exited from displaying her proficiency for the judges.

Moving between markers 'E' and 'R' at a gentle trot - as if I know what I am talking about! I am reliably informed there was a course to be followed, and I'm confident that Charlotte was following that course.

For me, just concentrating on where I stood (we are in the countryside now people, with lots of ponies) and trying not to put Charlotte off!

Beaming and beautiful sister Julie.

As promised, here is the link to more pictures...

Benefit for Keana

Had the absolute privilege of photographing a recent benefit for the beautiful Keana Fitzmaurice.

The following article from the Southern Courier newspaper gives you the context around why the benefit was being held, and I would like you to enjoy a few shots from the day.

It was held at the South Sydney Juniors club and went from 3pm Sunday

To the left is Keana and her mum Janina

Keana with her sister, brother and cousins...

Proud parents Khaliph and Janina receive a framed picture of their family.

Ciara's 6th Birthday

Ciara's 6th Birthday

Had the great pleasure of photographing Ciara's 6th birthday party on Sunday (30th May).

Held at the Lindfield Community Centre and a real Mad Hatter's Tea Party or Alice in Wonderland feel to the day - certainly help by Garrin's (Ciara's father) decorations.

Left is the birthday girl in her Cheshire Cat outfit receiving a bit of hand painting. The entertainment (sorry did not get her name) was excellent. If anyone is looking for someone to entertain their kids in a fun, professional way, let me know and I'll get the details for you.

Things have certainly changed since I was six and going to birthday parties - OK, so now I'm sounding old - but kids were eating fruit! Imagine that! Certainly Gabrielle's catering kept the masses in food with a fine selection for the young and a completely different selection for the parents. Nice one.

Kathy (my wife) was certainly busy in the kitchen, cutting sandwiches, plating up the various dishes and assisting Gabrielle in a multitude of ways.

And (as usual) I was running around hindering as many people as possible... even managed to put plenty of colour onto the sausage rolls.

Ciara certainly enjoyed her day, as is evident from the content look on her face!

That paper mache mask did not come off her face for much of the day.

Her many friends enjoyed their day with many games being played - limbo, statues, and a very popular magic show... I still cannot figure out the colouring book that changed between blank pages, line drawings to full coloured in. I'm a real sucker for a good magic show.

Final picture to share with you is one of Ciara with her sister... hope you enjoyed and don't forget to stop by my main site for the other galleries.
